THE SILVER SKILLET
When visiting Atlanta, this local favorite needs to be a priority as an essential food pit-stop, without any questions asked. For nearly 60 years, this diner has been serving made-from-scratch breakfast platters that include some local favorites such as the Skillet Country Ham and Chicken Fried Steak that has the perfect amount of crunch. Opened up in the mid-50's, it was famous for the homemade breakfast choices then and continues to be to this day. A cool thing here is their interior decor that has the popular as-seen-on-tv vintage memorabilia all over the place. Fun thing to pass the time while you wait for your order - which is always quite fast anyways. Old school diners are our favorite, obviously. But this one pulls at our heart strings each time with the charming welcome and service. A good selection of Inexpensive, traditional breakfast offerings served hot and delicious. There are many places popping up these days that are trying to spin the old-school diner feel, but none can match the true authenticity of this one - it's without question the real deal.
