This place is the heart and soul of the one and only, Alice "Ma" Harper, whom has set a new standard for Creole and Cajun dishes in the heart of San Antonio. She has a colorful history of being one of sixteen children in her family to a twenty-one year history in the US Air Force. She takes the upmost care when created her signature dishes which includes hand picking fresh ingredients daily, and taking the time to slowly cook all food to perfection. It's not rushed by any means, it's perfect through the correct slow process. She has won dozens of recognition awards throughout her culinary career. It's difficult to try everything you want on the menu in your first visit, so be sure to come back time and time again to truly experience the entire menu. It's rare that we cannot suggest a single favorite, but here it's really impossible. Everything is really that great. But basics such as the Gumbo, Red Bean with Rice, Fried Pork Chops and so much more. It's the perfect eatery to experience true Soul Food and odds are high you'll be able to meet Ma herself when you visit. We love this place.
