If you were to Google what it means to be an authentic Mom-and-Pop diner, this place would come up in the first slot results. You can come by Darby's Cafe in Washington anytime to enjoy a freshly prepared Breakfast, Lunch or Supper. They have truly added their own stamp of excellence on the menu which include favorites such as their Oysters Creole Eggs Benedict, Blueberry Crunch Roller and our recent favorite - the Winter Squash & Apple Hash. Now while this snug little diner has been one of our favorites to visit over the years, it has joined the ranks of closures and is no longer open for business. It's a shame as it was one of the few spots that juggled and excellent assortment of meals for both carnivores and vegans alike. In 2017, after 21 years of amazing service they turned off the lights but in place Three Magnets opened to turn a new leaf and venture. It was actually due to the popular and fame it received from the DDD appearance that ended up being it's demise. They preferred the small tight group of customers and the new flood of visits changed the dynamic which they just couldn't get used to. But that is ok, sometimes a fresh start and new beginnings are the way in life. With over a thousand locations visited through DDD, not all are left standing.
