BLUEPLATE LUNCH COUNTER AND SODA FOUNTAIN
This is one diner that you simply cannot pass up when driving through the city of Portland. Guy highly recommends this restaurant and tells us that the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup is one of the best in the entire nation. Of course, their authentic soda fountain drinks are to die for as well and bring in patrons each day. With more recent news as we return to this classic location, it appears that this classic hole-in-the-wall spot has perhaps closed its doors in 2016. After a decade of amazing service and setting diner standards unseen in years, the end has perhaps come and we're truly saddened if that is the ultimate case. The amazing Chef and owner of the Blueplate, Jeffery Reiter, seems to have confirmed this. Nothing better than this spot when it comes to handmade sodas that we've had the pleasure of drinking over the decade. From what we have heard in the Diner circles, our friend Jeffery Reiter has taken his love of the culinary world to the state of California for personal Chef endeavors. We wish him all the best, it's been a great ride!
