When visiting America, especially for a diner road trip, this is one of the essential pit stops to make without question. This amazing tucked away diner will truly make the entire trip memorable. Experience the flavors of their roadside dishes that will have you talking for years to come. The name of this diner comes from the local sources of Sandstone in the area which we find quite fitting. They are open 7 days a week from 7am to 9pm. You'll notice that it's the famous location as seen in the Cars movies, so a great place to come especially if you or your kids are fans. If you're on the road and looking for legit diner old-school food and experience, this is surely the best place to experience that. We also like it has a cute little gift shop there so you can pick up a souvenir or two from your stay. Plenty to choose from on the menu such as fried green tomatoes, chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, Jagerschnitzel, Bison Burger or the unique Cowboy Candy appetizer. It really brings us back to what our folks used to cook growing up.
