THE FARMER'S SHED
This really is one of those places that you can get anything you want from and items you really wouldn't expect up front. Their in-house Baked Cornbread is one of the best in the nation, topped off with Brown Sugar. Also try their Chicken Broccoli Supreme, Pies, Fried Pork Chops and so much more on the menu to pick from. The Farmer's Shed is a family-run diner that is from an authentic farm-run family that has taken it's classic American staples and made them readily available to the community. What makes this spot so good is that they rely on their seasonal ingredients grown on their farm.. this makes for fresh and highest quality meals. Also, the menu is therefore ever changing and will always have something amazing to choose from. They also have an attached market that also sell the locally grown items. They first opened their doors in 1999 and quickly became a local favorite for anyone in the Lexington area. Everything is made from scratch and of course, all home-made from scratch each and every morning. But, as we sometimes have to report to our readers, since our last visit - The Farmer's Shed has unfortunately closed their doors. In 2017, after nearly two decades of amazing service, March 17th was their final day of business. Shirley, Clinton, Carrie and Brian all thanked everyone for the many years of service and were extremely proud to have been such a fundamental part of the community. This spot will surely be missed.
